Refer a Woman to First Light
First Light is a voluntary, nonclinical six month program for women rebuilding after domestic or sexual violence. Before submitting a referral, please confirm that she knows about the referral and is interested in being contacted.
How the Referral Works
1. Submit the Referral
Complete the professional referral form.
2. We Contact Her
First Light contacts her to discuss the program and determine whether it may be a good fit.
3. She Attends a Welcome Gathering
She can attend a Welcome Gathering, ask questions, and decide whether she wants to continue.
4. She Chooses What Comes Next
Participation is always voluntary.
- She knows the referral is being submitted.
- She understands that First Light is voluntary and nonclinical.
- She is beyond immediate crisis.
- First Light is not being presented as court ordered treatment or required participation.
A referral allows First Light to contact her. It does not automatically enroll her in the program.
