Referrers should submit information only with that person’s knowledge and should avoid unnecessary sensitive or graphic details.

First Light is not a crisis service, emergency service, healthcare provider or substitute for professional medical or mental-health care. Website forms should not be used for emergencies. Information submitted through First Light forms is shared only as reasonably necessary for program operations, referrals, safety, legal compliance and the purposes described in this policy. First Light does not promise absolute confidentiality when disclosure is required by law or when immediate intervention is reasonably necessary to address a serious safety concern.

Storage And Security

First Light uses administrative and technical safeguards designed to protect information submitted through the website. In the current website system, form payloads and internal CRM notes are encrypted at rest, while limited operational metadata needed to route and manage records is stored separately. No website, database, email system or transmission method can be guaranteed completely secure, so First Light cannot guarantee absolute security.

Service Providers And Payments

First Light may use service providers for website hosting, email delivery, mailing-list management, payment processing, security, backups and other operational services. Those providers may process information on First Light’s behalf according to their services and applicable agreements. Payment-card information should be entered directly into the payment processor’s secure payment experience; First Light’s website forms are not intended to collect full payment-card details.

Email Communications

Submitting an inquiry, application or referral does not automatically subscribe you to marketing email. If you affirmatively request or consent to First Light news and updates, First Light may send email through its email-service provider. You can unsubscribe from promotional email using the unsubscribe link in those messages. First Light may still send transactional or service-related communications needed to respond to a request, application, referral, donation or other relationship.

Retention
